Applied Biosystems Model 370A DNA Sequencer and its dedicated computer, Applied Biosystems Model 380A DNA Synthesizer, Applied Biosystems Protein/Peptide Sequencer, Waters/Millipore Amino Acid Analyzer, Coy PCR Tempcycler, Beckman High & Ultra Speed Centrifuges and Liquid Scintillation Counters, New Brunswick Scientific 18 liter Fermenter and orbital platform shakers, UV-VIS Spectrophotometers, and other small equipment (e.g. pH meters, microscopes, balances, etc.).
Synthesis of modified tetracycline compounds and other specialty organic compounds including extensive background literature searches. Maintenance of safe chemical storage for hazardous materials. Advisor for the proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals. Advisor for application of chemistry to sustainable agricultural procedures (e.g. composting).
