In this issue President Al Sagarese highlights his priorities for 2023 on page  2.  Overall the Association is in good shape with a strong fiscal position and a strong program scheduled for fall 2023.  VP/ Program Chair John Fetzer, Membership Chair Heather Wahab and LinkedIn Chair Marvin DeTar contribute their thoughts on programming, growing our membership, and social media on pages 2 and 3.  On p. 4 is a Case History in which Councilor David Manuta joined an amicus brief (friend of the court) in support of a recently decided SCOTUS patent case.  Finally, Steve Duerr our new Webmaster, updates the ACC&CE website status on p. 5.

On page 5, we have duplicated the announcement for the Annual Meeting, which will take place on October 25, only online. This event is traditionally two meetings in tandem, the first the Annual meeting as required by our bylaws, and the second the first meeting of the new fiscal year.

On page 7, short bios are shown for our two newest members, Dr. Norman Sammons (Certificate #965) and Dr. Jason Babcock (Certificate #966). On page 8 is duplicated the item submitted last newsletter by Bernie Ennis, describing our new virtual meetings.

January – June 2016

We have a short letter on page 4 from the Executive Director, John Bonacci, who is recovering from a series of illnesses. He plans to retire from this position at the annual meeting in October, 2016. On page 5, Bernie Ennis will describe our progress in getting our meetings and presentations on line and available to all members. On page 6, we have the name and contact information on our newest member, Masatake Fushijima, and on pages 8 -10 appears an article by member, Marvin DeTar.

September – December 2015

On page 7, John Bonacci has submitted a thoughtful article on the issues he sees regarding the current education of chemical engineers and his ideas for future improvements. On page 9, ACC&CE President Manuta has contributed an article about a laboratory accident in China which resembled closely an accident in the US which he had investigated a number of years ago.
